curiousitygeorge22:

Are there any people that still haven't received II and are IS, and submitted end of August? I'm worried bc I still haven't heard back at all....

Hi!! I've talked a ton with the admissions committee and lots of students for Alaska, and they told me that even though it's "rolling" for UW, for those in the WWAMI region (at least definitely for Alaska), they don't even start reading secondaries until the 15th of November with interview invites for the Alaskans going out at the earliest at the end of November. Interviews for Alaskans happen only one week in February, and acceptances are usually shared that week. Hope that helps! I took two months to work on my secondaries for UW bc if you are a WWAMI applicant, you are better off making a good secondary than a fast one, and I had the regional advisor look at my secondaries every two weeks.

I think OP is a WA state resident which is why they said in state rather than in region.

What you’re saying about when secondaries get reviewed is consistent with what I’ve also heard from students from other WWAMI cohorts and with the other WWAMI cohorts interviewing in January and February, based on the interview weeks per cohort posted on the UWSOM website.

It’s different for WA state applicants though because according to the UWSOM website both WA state cohorts finish interviewing early December for Seattle (and Seattle starts interviewing in late September) and early January for Spokane. So unless they interview WA state applicants beyond these published dates, it implies that as a WA state resident if you’re not hearing back by November which is already approaching you should just assume you’re screwed and not getting an invite.

Idk about assuming you’re screwed if you don’t hear back by November. For Seattle/OOR they have Nov 16-20 and Dec 7-11 for interviews, and interviews are scheduled pretty close to when the II got sent. Also haven’t seen any OOR interviews between SDN, Reddit, and Admit, so at some point they gotta send out all of them. Hoping for the best for all of us!

What makes you think there aren't OOR interviews posted on Admit yet? I think you can reasonably assume that aside from super gunner WA applicants a solid portion of the people posting interview invites that do not have WSU Floyd on their list are OOR since most WA applicants will also apply there even as just a back up since it's the other in-state med school, and because other WWAMI region applicants don't typically receive interview invites this early. But with only 100 interview invites given to OOR applicants I do expect OOR interview invites to be super underrepresented online.

Without the users’ home state listed, its hard to tell without the user themself saying so. There’s a bunch of applicants from UW undergrad who are applying as OOR, so that could be part of the reason there are applicants with UW but no WSU. All speculation, just saying I haven’t seen anyone explicitly day they are OOR. Regardless, fingers are crossed that we all get interviews!
