Yeah, the MSTP cuts like 70-80% of the applicant pool pre-secondary, so a bunch of those Rs went out last week. Don't think MD only has sent anything yet.

This might be a stupid question, but is it worth adding UWash to my primary right now, as MSTP?

I would say that it's definitely not too late, especially if you are in the competitive range for their stats (specifically in-state vs. out-of-state). From my research, it seems that UW typically sends secondaries fairly late in the cycle. I'm guessing they went through a large batch of primaries late last week, and while they sent out some secondaries and some rejections, a bunch of people haven't heard back yet. Good luck!

I would definitely say that's not an "only", especially with a strong publication record. Also, if UW is a good research fit for your specific field, I would say 100% go for it.

Definitely +1 on applying if it's a good research fit! A lot of the people who marked rejections on the cycle results page had really high stats, so that's clearly not the be all end all for them.

I just received an email and access to the portal to complete the Washington residency history (I'm from Spokane, WA). I believe they will give access to the secondary once they verify residency. Who knows how long that will be

When filling out the UW residency form, do the start and end dates for each city need to be exact (e.g., matching my flight dates), or are approximate dates okay?

i just did years because i couldn't remember exact dates/months from my early childhood :')

haven’t gotten uw secondary yet. should i let them know in case they are in the process of sending those that my family is now living in washington or will that not affect anything?

The residency questionnaire is literally killing me. Took me a week to collect all the materials.

the CUSP scholar program page has the "yes" option greyed out, it only lets me click "no". i selected that i was interested in the seattle site so i'm not sure why it won't let me select "yes" for CUSP... is anybody else having this problem

I am having this same problem!!! It doesnt work even if the rest of the secondary is finished. i reached out to admissions to see if this is a glitch will lyk what they say

250 word limit for the main secondary essays. 200 for the CUSP essays (maybe also for TRUST, not sure)

Would it be worth applying if I am an OOR applicant? I have a military background, grew up in poverty in a very rural state and interested in rural primary care. I have never lived in one of the WWAMI states, which I feel is a hard no but I am unsure how the screening process works. I do have a strong desire to serve in a rural capacity. My MCAT is on the low side (below 510), but I believe that is my only true weak spot in my app.

Probably not, but if you have the money I guess there is no harm in trying.

Unless you are MD/PhD, UW strongly emphasizes connections to WWAMI states, even before mission fit.

WSU is even more difficult than UWSOM for residency requirements.

I am OOS and have connections to the area as well- no secondary

OOS with extremely strong ties and solid stats, no secondary yet. Keep in mind they only give secondaries to like <10% of OOS applicants.

I submitted my MSTP primary on August 5. When might I expect to hear back re: secondary invitations? Will I?

they got my MSTP primary on august 4 and i got a secondary the next morning. on the md/phd reddit, many reported either not hearing back or getting rejected. their screening criteria seems to be pretty vague but i'd imagine it has to do something with research fit moreso than stats. they claim to read every primary in full and only send 1 in 4 applicants a secondary

am OOR too, east coast with no ties. however my research area is a very strong fit (and my stats r p good), which is why i think i got a secondary so fast.
