Has anyone else received anything like this?
I don’t see anything in my portal, I interviewed late September

Can anyone shed some light on this RFU Form I have. So I logged in to my portal (Post II) and under forms I now see a new Required one named- "CMS - Allopathic Medicine Alternate List Confirmation".
No email or anything and when I click it, I get this;
Please select one:
YES, I accept the alternate list. Accordingly, please place my name on the alternate list for the Doctor of Medicine program for the entering 2027 class. I understand that if a seat opens in the class that I may be offered admission as late as the first day of class. I understand further that the Chicago Medical School does not accept any updates, including letters of intent, unless it is in regard to felonies, misdemeanors, institutional actions, or military discharges
NO, I decline the alternate list. As such, do not place my name on the alternate list for the Doctor of Medicine program for the entering 2027 class. As a result of this decision, I understand that this action will withdraw my application from all consideration.
Not sure if this is just something everyone signs post II to indicate they are willing to be on the waitlist, OR this is a message indicating I am officially waitlisted.
Thank you!!
I received the same portal update and am also a bit confused. I thought MD WL/A's could only come out on and after 10/15.

AAMC published their traffic rules on this site: https://www.aamc.org/services/admissions-lifecycle/traffic-rules
I think the Oct 15th date only applies to acceptances
3. Notify all Regular MD program applicants of their acceptance on or after October 15* of each admission cycle, but no earlier. Schools and programs may notify applicants of admissions decisions other than acceptance prior to October 15.

Schools are not required to follow AAMC traffic rules. It’s a recommendation by AAMC, and schools can send acceptances, rejections, holds, etc. whenever they want. There may be internal policies at schools that prohibit or other agreements besides the traffic rules. But the traffic rules aren’t binding.

Ah I see. Good to know!

Seems like it might be a WL from previous years’ posts.
