No, all different secondaries. First 4 are basically why CMS and what aspects of the community/region align with your goals. Last one is describe a time when u received difficult academic feedback.

Do apps go immediately to under review at submission or does it not happen until later? I forget what it said when I submitted mine and saw the portal today says it's under review so I'm just kind of curious not that it really changes anything.

Does anyone know if they send completion emails?

My portal says As of July 22, 2026, your application is under review. Once a final decision is made, we will send a separate communication as an application status update. -- So I imagine they might? Unless that just means the update happens in the portal.

Describe a time when you received difficult or unexpected feedback about your academic performance or behavior. How did you respond to that feedback, and what changes did you make as a result? (150 word limit)
Did anyone get a completion email? I don’t see it updated on the portal, nor did I receive an email. The only things marked complete on my end are the payment and essays.

I do have a "your application is complete" email. It took about a day to receive.

"Your application is under review"
I got an email from RFU today and checked the portal to see that "As of August 3rd, your application is under review." Does anyone know the timeline for this process?

Unfortunately, I do not think there is a set timeline for this. I have gotten this email from other schools and they wrote that it could stay like this for months. Based on a quick google search it seems like RFU is the same with admissions citing several weeks to multiple months due to their holistic review.

I guess my question is does everyone make it to this step? Is there any sort of funneling up to this point, such as during the experiences review? Or are these just buzzwords that really have no meaning?

I think everyone gets a secondary. All of the funneling is after the secondary and interviews. under review just means they haven't finalized a decision on your application or they haven't began sending interviews out i think

No I agree that everyone get a secondary. But then after submitting, you go through the experiences review and then the possibility of a phone interview. What I'm asking is if virtually everyone makes it past the experiences review and then receives the possible phone interview email.

They are doing nothing more than reviewing your app. Everyone gets this status when their app is complete. If you're invited to an interview you will get an email and that's it.
