I don't know what people expect a "deep review" to even mean. You think there are going to be 10 separate adcoms each pondering and deliberating over every individual app for like an hour? Even successful applicants have their apps read for like 10-15 minutes max (just like most applicants, unless you are placed for re-review). This will be true for most schools, and as the other commenter pointed out even at many schools that won't reject you until march-june of next year. So much better to know now, the waiting is the hard part.

I'm explaining their viewpoint, not saying I'm bothered by the R myself. And why do you care if they're bashing BU? That school will live loll
I don't care lmao, just pointing out that there are plenty of schools that wait to release rejections way after they have made those decisions. That is objectively a fact. Every year there are people who don't even get the rejection email until they have started school at a different program in the summer. Yes I know that there are some schools that "re-review" throughout the cycle. That does not negate that there are others that will just keep you in the reject pile for months. Some of you guys are so sensitive on here, it's okay to listen to different perspectives without being rude π

Yes exactly. There is no way that schools are genuinely re-reviewing thousands of applications in depth multiple times over. I don't think people realize how difficult it is to sort through that many applications

I'm explaining SOMEONE ELSE'S perspective like my god did you read what I said? Me saying to just let them hate on BU is not being sensitive. They just want to vent. It's fine that they feel the way they do. They're human. And again, explaining the process doesn't change what I said.

You're refusing to actually comprehend the discussion at hand. No one is confused about how application review is done. Or what schools do when they reject people. That's quite literally exactly what they're upset about. You're focusing on the benefit of us knowing if we're rejected now vs later, and saying the realities of admissions when that's quite literally not the point. It's the fact that this process results in applications being reviewed in a half-assed manner and schools pretending like that's not the case. THAT's what people are annoyed about. It's not about the practicality of whether it's possible to review this many applicants on a deep level. It's the fact that the way this process is structured means the ADCOMS CAN'T. And again, pretending like that's NOT THE CASE. Seeing rejections flow out early just sparks discussion on how quickly ADCOMs actually make decisions bc it's visible. Like I'm only getting annoyed bc ya'll keep saying stuff that's besides the point to a very simple statement. But whatever it's like talking to a wall
