I think honestly its luck, my faculty was nice but he did not read my profile at all, was not asked a single question about my application or actually, any meaningful questions at all. He only asked the required questions, seems not interested or engaged the entire time, and ended early despite my questions at the end. I feel like maybe ppl only post positive experience here, but we got this! It could be just their style of interviewing!!
is that scary tho like don't you feel an interviewer could impact how this process ends up.

The faculty interview holds the most weight from all 3 sections.

that’s so interesting, my faculty interviewer read my file in such detail that when i mentioned something she would tell me she read it on my file! she asked me the required questions and had so much of her own questions afterwards! we talked until we ran out of time till we were literally cut off and she was giving me advice for my future in medicine and medical school until the time ran out. But I’m waiting to hear back (interview 9/21) so idk how it went from her perspective

Where did you see this from what I understand they are all equal and it’s a point system.

I keep seeing super positive interview experiences here and I can’t stop thinking about my faculty interview. I felt like it was a stress interview I kept getting super blunt responses to all my answers. And the whole vibe was very confrontational. Going into it i did a ton of mock interview prep and feel like i have really good interview skills but i guess i just had a bad draw. My student and MMIs were super chill, but i can’t stop over analyzing my faculty interview.
This happened to me and truly caught me off guard. I heard such good things about the entire experience but I was being DRILLED during the faculty interview.

My faculty reviewer just said I read your file and I think nothing is wrong with it then asked me his standard questions he is required to ask then basically gave me a pitch sale to what Wayne offers lol. Maybe he was so chill because he is a retired physican who does this for fun.

I wouldn’t say I had a BAD experience with my faculty interviewer but she was definitely more on the serious side and just asked the required questions. She did ask about the research I did and we talked about Detroit as a city but I wouldn’t say I had a chill experience
