I was never asked why I did any certain activity, the "why" usually came naturally as you answer their questions. If you know your app well enough and have written a bunch of secondaries, you could safely answer any question the med student or faculty member asks. The MMI's are kinda like casper so just practice scenarios cuz you can be asked anything. The faculty and med student parts are really chill in my opinion. They aren't trying to get you by interrogation, they just wanna get to know you. The MMI's can feel a little stressful but the timing wasn't really an issue.

for example i got asked to expand more on one of my most meaningful activities and how it aligns with wayne state's mission. it was a service based activity so maybe thats why they asked?
I keep seeing super positive interview experiences here and I can’t stop thinking about my faculty interview. I felt like it was a stress interview I kept getting super blunt responses to all my answers. And the whole vibe was very confrontational. Going into it i did a ton of mock interview prep and feel like i have really good interview skills but i guess i just had a bad draw. My student and MMIs were super chill, but i can’t stop over analyzing my faculty interview.

I think honestly its luck, my faculty was nice but he did not read my profile at all, was not asked a single question about my application or actually, any meaningful questions at all. He only asked the required questions, seems not interested or engaged the entire time, and ended early despite my questions at the end. I feel like maybe ppl only post positive experience here, but we got this! It could be just their style of interviewing!!
