Paraphrased from the director of admissions: "You are welcome to submit a letter of interest if you want, it won't do anything at all to your application or help in any way, but you can do it to make yourself feel better" lol

what about update letters?

She said it can help but it needs to be a pretty significant update for it to count (not like i just started a new job and am doing this or im second author on a pub). She means more like I have an activity that I have a lot of hours or I have a first-author publication

Just after WL? I've heard mixed info on when to send letters of intent, if at all

I took a picture and they had it explicitly in their concluding session of their PPT slide. I will copy/paste the exact words!

"Intent?

IF waitlisted

Send on/around April 30th

Stay in touch if waitlisted and VUSM is you #1 choice

NOTE: We ACTIVELY utilize the waitlist. Movement from the waitlist goes until middle of June"

So these were their exact words, obviously I am not sure if that means they absolutely don't allow pre-WL or pre-II so you can clarify if you wish! Seems like they definitely do care about letter of intent though:)

how far through do you all think they are with reviewing applications for IIs? the last few interviews seemed to be from july submissions all around the same date, but i'm hesitant to think they go in order of submission
