Ye for sure:

1. Please reflect on the upbringing, background, and experiences in your life that have shaped who you are as a person and will help define the person you want to be in the future. In other words, what makes you who you are? (800 words)

2. Tell us about a time when you interacted with an individual who is different than you. What did you learn? Would you do anything differently and if so, what? (600 words)

3. It is important to understand that everyone needs help at various times in their lives. Reflecting on the last five years, describe a time you asked for help and what you gained from that experience that has influenced your approach to asking for help. (600 words)

4. Describe a sustained leadership experience that shaped you. This might include identifying a gap and addressing it, holding a formal role, leading a team effort, or driving a project forward over time. Indicate how long you were involved and the scope of your contribution. What did you learn about your own leadership capabilities, and how will these insights inform your role as a physician-scientist?  (300 words)

5. What clinical specialty or specialties interest you most, and why? (100 words)

6. Describe the general nature of research you intend to pursue long-term: basic, translational, clinical, or a combination? (100 words)

yall are you actually writing up to 800 words for the first prompt, bc i wrote so much in my PS and i've only written 500 words for this but i genuinely don't know what else to say!!! can i just start talking about my hobbies and random shit or just leave it as is

had the same question! im currently sitting at 488 words with basically everything I wanted to say. Im thinking quality > quantity so it should be okay (hopefully)

i got mine 6 days after the receipt of application email, but i'm sure it depends per person

Do most people use the full 600 words for those two questions? or are people getting II's with 300-400 words.

i used 600 for both but for the first one i did 700/800

for you all getting vandy II, how "deep" were your autobiographical essays? my diversity essay which was polished and contains all the intersting stuff about my life is at 500 words, and i just wanted to add some basic, boring life experience stuff to reach 800.

I wouldn't recommend adding more just to reach 800. I got a ii, ending on a basic boring note is what they will likely remember more than the interesting stuff, unfortunately. Just end it at 500, it likely won't work against you as much as the boring stuff will.

has anyone gotten a vandy mstp ii? their first round is in like two weeks but I havent seen anyone post one on any forums and it seems like that short notice for mstp interviews
