Per the MSAR the yield rate from interviews is about 15%

95 slots with 623 interviews given

For reference SUNY downstate a public school has about a 20% yield rate
UCSF has a 30% yield rate

Note that it doesn't count all the over admits/wl; probably close to a 20% conversion or something for quinnipiac

So yeah, this 80% yield rate might be a marketing lie to get more applicants or something

a post-ii acceptance rate is not interviews --> matriculants it is interviews --> acceptances. Acceptances and matriculants are very different. Even some of the top schools in the country offer at least 2x the spots they have available because a lot of students choose to go elsewhere. I would have to imagine that Netter is higher than those schools and would guess it is at least 3x (which would make post ii acceptance at least 50%). Its practically impossible to say with any certainty what the actual post ii acceptance rate is and ngl 80% feels quite high, but id be shcoked if it was much below 40%.

For the 20% conversion estimate that you reckoned that would mean 95 of 125 offered a seat would accept that seat and I have a hard time believing that. Again to be fair I also doubt the 80% admit sites.

I don’t think so. I think they have to offer extra acceptances because so many end up going elsewhere explains a huge part of their numbers judging by their “please come here” comments and private school price tag and lack of a home hospital and research.

Agree with everything you said (Im not OP) but wdym by "please come here comments" like curious what I missed.

In the deans info session or wrap up q&a with one of them, she was so sweet and was really just genuinely like “come to our school” (with humble undertones that acknowledge there are better programs out there but QU genuinely cares about our success). It was one part overarching theme and another part directly stated. Not in a begging way - just in like a way that says they put a lot of work into who they invite ultimately and they care a lot is how I took it.

on the lower end bc the lack of research and distance of rotation sites
