+1 OOS secondary. Applied to them 7/6 and just received it 7/21, I didn't realize they screen pre-secondary but after looking into it they certainly do. Really excited about this one!

All applicants who submit a verified and completed AMCAS application will be forwarded a Secondary Application via email. All applicants will be required to pay the application fee of $100 or provide documentation for a waiver from the AMCAS Fee Assistance Program (FAP). Following a rigorous screening process, qualified candidates will be invited for a virtual interview. Prior to the interview date, candidates will receive an agenda consisting of meetings with students, faculty and administrators. Candidates will also be given an overview of the curriculum and student life as well as information regarding tuition and financial aid. 

The deadline for secondary applications during the 2026-27 application cycle is December 15, 2026.

bruh they need a full year of chem lab? should i just not submit the secondary anymore ffs i already wrote everything before i realized. my undergrad has courses structured like 2 lectures and a lab, so like CHEM 101, CHEM 102, CHEM 103 (lab course), does the lab semester count as a full year?

If it's a two credit lab then it might count. You could also email the admissions team and ask.

How many credits is that lab? Agree with TylerT to email the school and ask. You cannot help that's how the classes are offered.

Has anyone been able to find information about their research labs?

Was doing more thorough research on the school's curriculums and offerings, and I can't find too many specifics about their research programs and labs (just the journals they've published in and places they've given presentations). My Why medicine is very much inspired by intellectual curiosity, and I'd like to make research a longitudinal aspect of my medical education.

With that, I did read about the Scholarly Capstone project and the opportunity to pursue Basic, Translational, and Clinical research, but I cannot for the life of me find any specific research output or details on laboratories. Maybe I'm just the nontrad unc struggling to navigate the website, but I was hoping to have more insight on the research opportunities to mention in my secondary app. Has anyone had more luck finding specifics than i have?

Did you guys tie back to the school in any way? I feel like the prompts rarely let us.

any advice for interviews?

The interview is straightforward, personable, chill. Two one-on-one interviews. One of the 2 interviewers will be a student (2nd year and up), then the 2nd will either an alum or faculty or staff member

No unanticipated or tricky questions. Very similar to a job interview but ofc geared towards your path to medicine and your interests

What has surprised you the most? Like anything you really appreciate about QU that you didn't expect before hand?

faculty who care fiercely about not only a proper education, but well-being also. The school has hired learning experts to help develop the curriculum and discuss struggles with students. Faculty also has an open-door policy so they can be consulted at any time

So they absolutely know how to educate us without a shadow of a doubt in my mind and I do believe they are making it worth our while here.

Only downside is no home hospital, but that hasn't stopped me and others from networking around the area

OOS II today! Curious about navigating the mesh sites? Where are the sites typically/how far do students typically travel? Early clinical exposure is awesome but I'm curious about the logistics of handling that in the early years. Also, what's the vibe re: non-trads, esp those who have families/young kiddos coming in?

one of my classmates is in their mid 30s with a spouse and a baby. I believe their spouse is not currently working and don't know the full details, but the spouse has been taking care of the baby for the most part while my classmate is dealing with school ofc

MeSH sites are driven to (and driving is required for both commute to and from campus since most ppl live 15-20 min away and MeSH). So definitely do get a reliable car before coming, if you decide to come. Sites can be up to an hour away, but MeSH itself is not a huge time commitment and is every 2 weeks I believe. I personally have not started it yet. But, above all, it is early clinical exposure to practice doctoring (subtle observation skills, diagnosis, history-taking, physical exam, etc)

Tons of other med schools require driving btw, even those with home hospitals, so the issue isnt unique to Netter

Well QU was my only acceptance last cycle lol so I did not exactly have my pick of the litter for schools. Nonetheless, I think I would have decided to come here had I been confronted with the decision to pick

The student body is very mature, selfless, easy to talk to and honest. You can tell that folks are coming in with life experience and an overall mature perspective. Just a great group all around. I don't think trads or folks who are fresh out of college would fit in immediately, but my perspective also could be just biased as I am a non-trad. Everyone has found their group of people here, and even outside circles of friends, each person is down to help the other.

No real sense of competition here because the preclinical curriculum is True P/F. We all want to see each other succeed.
