The interview session is breaking up into 3 parts.
The first hour you are in like a big Zoom conference call with all the interviewees with the admins and some professors. There is going to be that dreaded "break the ice" exercise where you go around say your name and introduce a fun fact about yourself.
Then we break til the next hour. The actual interview will take place after that. There are 2 interviewers. They will email you the morning of the interview about your interviewers. You may get all faculty, or you may get one faculty and one 4th year student. Anyhow this is where it matters. They will start with some formality questions, like your name, where you're from, why medicine, why Mercer. Depends on how you answer those questions and where their interests piqued, the questions will get more personal. To me at times it felt like a casual conversation but some times it felt like they were probing to see whether I'd go back to my hometown after residency (I'm from rural Georgia) or what specialty in medicine I'd pursue. The line of questions would be like where your family are now, how was it like growing up here, or do you know the town you'd want to practice in might not be considered rural cuz there are xx population etc (mind you it's not a suburb of any big cities like Atlanta or Augusta or Macon, it's not Athens or Savannah or Valdosta either lol), or why are you interested in this [practice], how you came to be interested in it from your clinical/volunteer experiences. Something like that lol, you are allotted 45 mins but time flew by real quick.
My sense here is that the interviewers are checking for the mission fit (my MCAT or GPA isn't that impressive but they never asked about that). I honestly don't know what tips I can give because I was a nervous wreck so hopefully yall can learn a thing or two from my experiences and do better than me lol.
Then we break again til the next hour. This time you're in a group of 5, and you get to meet the ambassadors of each campus (so 3 total) who are 2nd year students. You can ask them pretty much anything, about the school, the scholarship, classes, so on.
We break for the last time, and they'll tell you when to expect to hear back, what you can do, how the overall process will be (rolling admission, if not selected released to regular, pretty much nothing you haven't already known).

Hey, have some faith in yourself! I was super nervous too and my answers definitely illustrated that sometimes ;). I'm hoping they understand the stress that is associated with the interview process because it's the final hurdle for getting in. I do not know what's more stressful though waiting until the end of the month or that interview lol.

I actually saw your post on SDN and got extremely worried since I am in the same boat you were in last cycle, except with worse stats lol
Did you have your interview yet? How was it (or would you mind sharing it with us later if you haven't had yours)?
Edit: Thanks for the DM futernonstudentdoc :)
How does picking MUSM campuses work? Do they ask in the interview which campus you prefer?

You get to choose after acceptance.
we think roughly 10 people in each interview, so total around 110 people for ED? And they usually take around 80 people from ED, right? Is anyone else super anxious about this

100% cannot wait to get hit with the deferral--> waitlist hammer for the second year! I absolutely love this process!
Haha y'all I'm anxiously waiting! I know that in pervious years, you get the call on the actual 3rd Wednesday, which would be 9/23. This year, September ends on a Wednesday 9/30...but I also saw in a previous thread that they waited till the very last week if it included a Wednesday.
What do y'all predict? Do y'all think well get a decision on the 23rd or 30th?
Either way, I'm ready for the end of the month!
Edit: The 3rd Wednesday is actually 9/16. and they still have the last ED interview date on 9/17. Just an anxious ED applicant trying not to be neurotic lol!
