Someone on SDN reported receiving one last Friday. Their app was verified 8 June… mine was verified 1 June and haven’t received one 😭

it cant be last friday. i spoke with mrs bridgette on thursday about an unrelated item and she told me theyd send out "first thing next week". i updated yall as soon as i hung up.

Are the secondary questions similar to last year's cycle?

Mercer University School of Medicine was established in 1982 to educate physicians and health professionals to meet the primary care and health care needs of rural, medically underserved areas of Georgia.

1. Summarize your work and learning experiences that reflect congruence with our mission.

2. Based on your understanding of our mission, where and what do you envision yourself doing after completion of medical school and residency, and how does this address the critical need for primary health providers in Georgia?

3. Describe your body of work in service to the underserved and reflect on its importance in preparing you for the practice medicine.

4. Describe your personal experience with rural medicine.

5. Explain to the Admissions Committee experiences, attributes, or qualifications you believe are unique to you that will strengthen the educational environment at MUSM.

6. Discuss your academic readiness for the rigors of our medical school curriculum. If necessary, explain how you overcame academic difficulties.

7. Address any institutional action, including honor code or conduct code violations, from your time as an undergraduate or graduate student. Applicants may answer ‘None’ to this question if the action was deleted, expunged, or otherwise removed from their record by the institution.

I'm sorry, but what does #9 mean?

LOL I asked myself the same question when I got that. My understanding is that they want us to kind of discuss our upbringing maybe and how it contributes to Mercers mission fit (someone correct me if I am wrong). Or like any challenges we may have faced along this path is I guess what that question is asking. Atleast thats my understanding.

When does Mercer usually start sending out ED interview invites?

Last year, folks got invites the first week of August.

Anyone else having a hard time uploading a picture of themselves into the secondary? Every other document besides that one will upload.

Did you ever figure it out? Because mine won't upload either.

Yes! I tried Google Chrome and Incognito mode. Neither worked. I also tried both jpg and jpeg files, both under the MB limit. Still did not work. So, I called! Spoke with a really kind lady who had me email her the jpeg, and she was able to upload it for me directly into my secondary! Hope that helps. I would not hesitate to call if you are having the same issue; the lady I spoke with seemed happy to help.

Yea I just got it 30 mins ago.

So apparently all I had to do was press the blue upload button... I feel like an idiot.

how long did it take yall to do this secondary because it feels like im taking forever

I took about 9 days to submit due to other professional obligations.

I saw a couple folks over at SDN getting interview in ED but not getting in last cycle, so I don't think how soon you complete secondary and receiving II matters.

Honestly I am not that strong of a candidate so I'm still grinding to retake the MCAT ready for the next cycle lol

Yes not sure if they release on Tuesday but I got mine last Tuesday.

You can check in the AMP portal for an "interview" tab even when the email hasn't come.

Out of curiosity, how many people do we think have been offered an interview so far? Does Mercer interview all ED applicants?

Not 100% sure if everyone gets an interview, but they take ED very seriously. If you look at their class profiles over the years, you'll see that the overwhelming majority of the cohort comes from ED.

This isn't the latest, but you'll see this trend when you search these.

I found this class profile of 2027. ED share of the incoming class is a lot smaller vs 2024 or 2025

Those numbers make sense given the fact that those cohorts around that time coincide with the Columbus campus opening in 2022.

Wait why would Columbus campus opening caused a drop in ED acceptance?

I get that the total number student body increased but why ED was lower?

ED numbers seems to have gone up for class of 2029 per MSAR. 73 ED matriculated out of 176 total, so it's still almost about half

This. Either way... a significant portion of the class comes from ED. What I'd be curious to know is the average size of the ED applicant pool per cycle.

Also, a percentage of those ED students come from the Master's linkage program, and it's a pretty good rate of those who matriculate from that program.

Where'd you see that? Mercer's site says "When applying, MSPCS students must apply through the “Regular Pool” admissions process. Any Early Decision applicants would not have grades from the MSPCS program before the Early Decision deadlines."

I've attended the program. Students apply under Regular Decision, but for linkage, their applications are pulled out from that pool of applicants for a guaranteed interview, provided they have a certain MCAT score and end their 1st semester with a 3.5.
