Oos II with no ties to ny whatsoever, just been working in New England post grad. Have visited the New York side of Niagara Falls tho. Confused but hype

maybe high performing new yorkers SHOULD be entitled to an interview from the state schools funded by their tax dollars.
no idea why in the past few years "entitlement" has been this buzzword everyone uses now.
believe it or not people are allowed to ask for better.

I do want to go to a state school, so I can continue my education with IS tuition rates, and train and eventually work in the state in which I have lived my entire life thus far.
That being said, though, if I am forced to leave, then I’m going to be forced to leave.

id say send them an email and ask how that works. but if its work or something and they can't accomodate I'd say interview comes first.
okay i emailed yesterday afternoon and hoping to hear back sometime today, its a kind of conflict that cannot be moved so hopefully we can figure something out
wow this thread got really popular! good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews 💙🦬
For anyone who interviewed in person, would you mind sharing what the day looked like for you? I’m curious about how it was structured, whether it felt high- or low-stress, etc. Thanks!

extremely low stress. they take you and the others to a conference room. you are first greeted by some members of the adcom. you have this classic introductions session with them and the other candidates. you then have lunch. after lunch, your interviewers come and grab you from the conference room and bring you back in after you're done with the first. same goes with the second interview. after the interviews, you tour the med school with couple med students. very positive experience overall.

what kind of questions did they ask you? This is my first interview of the season and I want to be as prepared as possible heading into it lol

It was very personable. They asked me a lot about my application and my activities mostly to elaborate a little bit more on them and hear them from a more “unscripted” pov than on amcas. Student interview asked more questions to get to know me as a person and faculty was more why physician
