how should you prep differently for the group vs one-on-one interviews, thoughts on group seem mixed
no need to prep differently!! normal interview questions. the other interviewees are awesome and theres ample time to chit chat and get to know eachother so its not intimidating!!! they want to see how you will interact w your future colleagues so my group really worked on building off of eachother which was wonderful. i felt so heard by the other applicants we were all genuinely interested in eachothers stories!!
Sooo were any interviews sent out today?

Is presenting at research conferences substantial enough for a pre-II update?

Depending on if it was an oral or poster presentation, it can a strong update letter. Regardless, it should be a core element. I would still try to mention any volunteer or clinical updates in addition. Doesn't have to be anything major. Could be like I am "continuing my work at X doing this new Y (attending a specific volunteer event, seeing a type of clinical case at work, etc.) which would align with Emory's Z value/opportunity."
