Does Weill just not have much WL movement this year? Or can we expect more in the coming week? Is it class full?

The people accepted off WL last week were given until May 15 to respond, so I'd be surprised if we hear anything until then — especially considering nobody has reported any offers this week, and it's unlikely every person who got an offer last week accepted it. I think it's very tough to tell if any MD class is full at this point.

For MSTP, the combination of early CTE deadlines and far smaller cohorts make it way easier to determine if WL movement is done. Based on my friends' experiences, it seems that MSTP directors are much more willing to communicate the status with their WL candidates than MD admissions offices. Which makes sense, given MSTP people have more at stake (specific research interests, etc.) and there are just less of them to manage.

Do we know if the first round of A off WL on April 30 and May 1 was all the spots available and we’re just waiting for those who won’t be taking them or if that first round was just a subset of the available spots?

Obviously none of us on the WL know (and somebody tried calling them to inquire, but apparently just got smooth jazz for a while before voicemail lol).

Could be totally mistaken, but it's possible the 4/30 and 5/1 offers were to get to a full class size after what might have been a slightly lower PTE yield, which surely must happen some years. Reason I say this is because it is pretty unlikely people would have received WL offers from other schools that early, which is the only other way seats can open up.

So some proportion of the 4/30 + 5/1 seats, as well as the seats that open up through Cornell PTEs getting off other WLs over last few weeks, is my estimate.

Again take this all with a grain of salt, this is the blind leading the blind.

FWIW I emailed the admissions office and this is the response I got:

We appreciate your continued interest in Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC). WCMC’s waitlist movement can last throughout the summer; as our wait list is not ranked, waitlisted applicants are re-reviewed when openings occur. We are unable to give specific times of when individual applicants will be re-reviewed.

Sincerely,

Office of Admissions

Not especially helpful but I am still optimistic that things could move!

I emailed as well after the voicemail because we have nothing to lose, and got the same cookie-cutter response. Shows they are in the office though... screening calls lmao. All we can do is wait, no point in trippin.

It is annoying though with all the other school deadlines, no Grad PLUS debacle, and more. Maybe the fed-aid issues slow things down, I know my plan to enroll selection has been struggling to get out aid offers in this brave new world.
