When is your deadline to commit? Is it the standard 2 weeks from today?

How true is this?

“Is it accurate that when a school accepts its initial class - it has already set its demographics for that year - i.e. number of male/female; instate vs out of state; ORM; URM; geographic diversity. So then as some of those initial acceptees decline to go other places, schools will pull from the waitlist someone with the demographics of the person who declined? Meaning for a state school - if an out of state ORM female declines, that spot is very likely going to another out of state ORM female on their waitlist? I had heard this theory at one point but have never heard more. Seems to make sense. Has anyone heard anything similar from schools?”

Yale adcoms said this re. Waitlist movement. I assume most top schools do it to some extent

VERY VERY generous. No other school came close. They literally covered my entire cost of attendance! The only downside is having to reapply every year. They also don't cover the a research year.

When people say COA, do they mean housing/insurance, or like a persoanl spend stipent for food and transport? Wondering what everyone means when they say COA is covered haha

COA is determined by the school (you can look it up on their websites!) but it typically includes tuition, housing, food, transportation etc. But keep in mind, that how they calculate food or personal expenses may not be representative of everyone’s actual expenses bc everyone has different lifestyles.
