Oos the 10th and 25th percentile is 520, and that was for current M2’s.

instate has more flexibility with 517 being 25th percentile though

I highly doubt this is true unless msar says it.

the median mcat for the M2's is 520 not the 25th percentile, that is highly unlikely.

Admit stats also say otherwise and those are max two years old

Yeah those stats are msar for admitted students, not matriculants

Interviewed here. Mine was open-file. Thought it went well but now I’m overthinking everything I said. Anyone else wanna share their interview experience?

Mine was also open file and as someone else said,. the chillest interviews I've had so far. Both of my interviewers were very nice, knew my file well, and seemed genuinely interested in my story. I also like that they separate the interview day from the admissions presentations.

Honestly USF is my top choice and for a long time I thought I was going to apply early decision, but chickened out given how competitive it is.

I do wonder though, is there any benefit of not having preclinicals pass/fail like most other schools? And why is there a sentiment that it's hard to match competitive specialties at usf? In particular looking to match anesthesia and ideally would like to stay at usf/tampa general

I think it's natural to second-guess everything you say in an interview, but remember that we are our own toughest critics lol. Best of luck to you!

Is an early October interview (invite sent last week) within the auto wait list zone?

No, you’re in the running for an A based on previous cycles. Interview invites (not the interviews themselves) sent in mid-October and later seem to be auto-WL

tbh not really much of an advantage or disadvantage to the graded scheme. I guess if you got honors in every single course while still being up the standard on research and leadership, you'd look good but honestly PD's dont care that much if at all. It's like clinical grades, Step, research, leadership >>>>>> preclin grades. mostly because there's no standardization and you cant compare them to students at other schools anyway. a ton of ppl here just pass and are fine.

Not sure what you mean about not getting competitive specialties? In 2025, there were 3 neurosurg matches, 2 ophtho, 3 ortho, and 2 derm. not so bad though I know some schools have bigger numbers. 14 people matches anesthesiology in 2025 which is great for you lol and many people in general match into usf health so.

beyond a certain interview date USF tends to only give WL or reject and largely accepts only from their early interviews at first. but this means lots of wl movement
