i'm curious if people can get the A without receiving a call. based on excom member schedule/availability/etc. or maybe i'm just coping lol

idk about this cycle, but last cycle a bunch of people reported getting emails before calls. sometimes even like a week or more between

Im gonna use this to cope! Lets all hope for As soon :)))) Im curious, how did everyone feel about their interview? I think mine went okay... idk if the interviewers liked my answers and some of the questions seemed really strange

I'll tell ya, I fully crashed out after my interview replaying every word I bumbled and suboptimal answer I gave. Basically wrote it off (tough to do given the decade (yikes) long battle to UW). Got the A yesterday so I really would try not to sweat the interview performance too much :D

my interviewers were surprisingly conversational and affirming (nodding, saying "great answer", etc) which felt amazing in the moment... and now makes me feel far more anxious as i was told several times that they were "trained" to not be that way. so now i feel so uncertain that maybe i completely misinterpreted things. i feel like i was rambling and that they asked a lot of health policy questions and maybe i did not give them enough time to learn much about me as a person (outside of medical topics). idk. i'm really hoping for the best.

I felt exactly the same way and was reassured over and over that if they focused heavily on health policy/concept based questions that they are explicitly aware of the fact that they spent more time seeing your thought process rather than “who you are” - which they get from your convo vibes and the rest of your app!

During my interview they didn’t ask a single follow up question and it was a bit awkward. No feedback or thoughts on my answers, just a “thank you” and then mute the mic so the next person could ask me a question. I ended up laughing a lot cuz it was so awkward and the questions were so random. Thought there was no shot I get in, the question about how my friends describe me I said silly and then a cliche answer about how busy I am, they also asked what I want my classmates to be like I said just kind to me that’s all next question—still got the A 🙏

I think it helped to know a lot about current healthcare landscape and having firsthand experiences with patients, nurses and caregivers in a hospital setting to talk about when supporting my answers
