I have definitely enjoyed my first few months! The transition is challenging at times but overall I am happy. I really like my classmates-for the most part everyone is collaborative, kind, and curious. We are in our supposedly most difficult course of all medical school currently but that ends at Thanksgiving, so almost done! Taking such a hard course right away is intense but also helps you prove to yourself you are capable of medical school workload. The faculty are amazing, a total 180 from my experience with undergrad STEM professors. The mission statement of Rochester and the biopsychosocial model does shine through our classes and also through the students attending I would say. In terms of quality of life, it is very person dependent. Everyone is stressed out with the current class we are in but I still have time to work out once a day, cook homemade meals (usually:)), call my friends/loved ones, and read. However, I would say I have pretty good time management skills and am not trying to be in the top 10% of my class so am comfortable just knowing I am passing. Some of my peers are not sleeping as much and don't have time for much outside of studying-but we are all anticipating a big quality of life improvement once we finish this course. I would 100% recommend Rochester and am happy to answer any other questions too! Speaking to current students was helpful for me in making my decision and I spoke to >5 students at Rochester so want to pass that on to you all!
I'm an accepted student; please shoot me a DM! I'd love to ask a few questions

For the 2 activities that we submit after receiving II, should I assume the interviewer read my secondary app essay about community service and focus on two different activities? Or repeat that one from the essay just in case

tbh i dont think it really matters. if it was meaningful then write about it again, just try to add something and don't repeat ideas from the secondary. that's what i did. fwiw one of my interviewers didnt even read my secondary or the activities lol.

I would not assume that your interviewer will have seen anything BUT what you put in those shorter post-II essays. I think that is all they will see, so they have can see your best strengths without having to read your whole app.
