It seemed like my interviewer kept forgetting I was interviewing for med school cuz she kept giving me applications as a resident and half the time was talking about residency…

I think it differs based on interviewer. My experiential really really grilled me on my experience (worst interview ever). I viewed very well with my behavioral, and it was very chill tell me about a time as well as a couple insanely easy MMI style questions. The biggest difference was open vs. closed file, and one went in depth about my acc activities section while the other was more general with a couple MMI style
What specific angles or questions did they grill you during the experiential part? Was it more about defending your hours/roles, or they wanted more reflection.
Also, what kind of MMI scenarios did they throw your way in that second interview? I have an interview soon so any help would be great!

They just asked to go deeper into your experiences. They may bring up specific experiences and things about your application and just ask you to talk about it (ie. "tell me more about this experience"). It is very low stress.
They just have a list of ethical questions ie. patient refusing treatment and stuff like that. My interviewer was welcoming to all answers and it became a discussion where we were both able to share thoughts and opinions. It did not feel like a grilling/interrogation at all.

For experiential, he starting asking me like super in-depth on clinical and my pubs. Exactly what research I did. He would ask hard follow-up questions specific to my app that I thought didn't really relate (if I for example talked about shadowing neurosurgery he asked me hard questions on a specific disease I had no idea to answer). Again this is def based on ur experiential interviewer LOL bc some of my friends had a wayyy easier time

I did not personally have the same experience with the experiential, so sorry! My behavioral was a little harder but still not like this.
