I was waitlisted last cycle and still haven’t received a secondary this cycle like others here. I called admissions today and was told that primaries are still under review and secondaries are still being sent to selected applicants. They couldn’t provide any applicant-specific updates. They also said the waitlist is not officially closed and that applicants could theoretically be pulled off as late as the day before classes start.

But wouldn't that put people who might not get off the waitlist and want to reapply to UMass this cycle at a disadvantage?

That's what I'm worried about, especially because waitlist movement is probably very unlikely. I asked if there was any further information or action needed on my end, but it doesn't seem like there's anything we can do.

lots of administrative changes happening at UMass right now with the new chancellor coming into office and they are changing their interview format. I suspect these are contributing to the slower pace of interviews invites being sent out? idk for sure but just food for thought
