Hard to say because no one publishes data on where OOS applicants come from. For last year's matriculants they said 146 came from MA, 39 came from the West Coast, 24 from the Northeast, 13 from the Midwest, 8 from the South, and 3 from Canada. I think it gives us a very slight bump over some but really impossible to say if that's true without seeing the applicant split. I personally view advantage by comparing ratios of applicants:matriculants.

I'm a current MS1 on orientation and there are A LOT of ppl from California. I think it's like the biggest state after MA.

Did you do the Kira Talent interview last year? Or is that new to this year?

For those who submitted and were waiting for a secondary, how long did it take to receive a secondary after verification?

I think it's new this year. I've personally never done a Kira Talent interview for any schools last year! My interview for UMass was just the regular MMIs like the previous years. My timeline was II on 8/1, interview on 8/14, and got my A sometime mid-January. Happy to answer any questions!
