It's not even a recommendation. It's a deadline 💀. If it was a recommendation, I would say absolutely submit. Because it's a deadline, this person is purely wasting their money.

I guess if you have the money and the stats then? Since you already paid for the primary to be sent out. Basically if you think ur app is so good submitting it past the deadline can be overlooked. Me personally I would do it just for the chance, but this is a case by case basis

Don’t listen to anyone, just submit

This is like recommending someone with a 516 to apply to NYU because "you never know until you try, might as well shoot your shot". Basically equivalent levels of wasting $100+ for something that is effectively impossible

Not to hate but NYU does have an MCAT range of 516-527. What if that 516 never applied? Again it is still not a 0% chance.

Also why are you so obsessed with what other people do with their money? People have already established that its a long shot either way lol.

You can spend however you like, I'm just saying it's not good advice to recommend that someone in that position submit lol. That NYU data is also for 2023 matriculants...

The difference is that this isn’t about MCAT scores. This is following their expectation of abiding to their timeline. We’re not telling them they can’t apply, but even if you’re super wealthy, it makes no sense to spend money on a school that will likely throw your application out immediately. I have never heard of anyone submitting late to a UC, including UCSF, and receiving an interview.

Also, it makes it worse that they never communicated about a needed extension before the due date. It will definitely appear to UCSF that they simply forgot about them and it’s not that important to the student

like 2 days...

Current UCSF student here. I will tell you right now that if you submit late, you will not get an II. Admissions is very strict on their secondary submissions, and they make it clear in admissions events. But if you want to give a donation to the school, you are more than welcome to.

When are II emails coming out? They're the only UC that hasn't sent out

Cool, that's true. I heard UCSF secondary screen isn't as tough as years before?
