yes in major purgatory. I am a reapp and let's just say it doesnt get better with them. they love to ghost. However I hope that changes for you and for the process bc it was not fun at all and felt unfair. I hope they get back to you soon

check out my new site for med school apps too while im here(: shows decision waves and a weather "forecast" depending on the reported school decisions. suny would be frozen....aka nothing going on. *

I did! I don't think it matters too much, some people also brought their friends & siblings, and some people went alone.

are you talking about the general info session and tour in July, or the post II campus tour?

How does the student interview work? R there a lot of dates we can pick from for that?

Honestly, while I'm just as neurotic as you (and also a NY resident) it seems like Downstate spreads out their interview invite season much more than other schools. They also make it explicitly clear that they don't review applications in order, so don't fret! A friend of mine with a 524/3.9 last year who submitted early July didn't hear back from Downstate until the end of September.

Honestly I'm just genuinely confused how you don't have any IIs at this point. I can maybe understand the yield protection argument though, but if you send an LOI (by which I assume you mean Letter of Intent?), you'd probably lose a lot of finaid leverage. I would wait to do so if that's what you meant as Downstate doesn't reject until Jan, but a general interest letter is fine. Definitely wait to see if you hear back from other schools too. Wishing you the best of luck
