does not having an R from stanford mean good things? or will they just come back for the R later :(
It could mean good things it could mean nothing at all. I survived a couple R cycles for 2 schools before getting the II. For Stanford specifically, their interviews are scheduled with around 40 people per day and no flexibility with picking your date. They simply might have just opted to send you II invite later on based on availability. However I have friends that, last year, got the R the day before thanksgiving after surviving a lot of cycles. So never know. I think if your stats are in range and you have been receiving other T20 invites, there’s a high chance you might get Stanford too.

the only good it means is that ur app made it past screeners, which includes the new AI tool all AMP programs are using
Sorry if this has been answered/online, I think I might be bad at reading comprehension but is the PSTP interview process fully separate from MD? Are you still considered for MD if a PSTP interview gets you rejected?

Its not super clear but my guess is the PSTP interviews just influence your reg MD decision. If you get in MD youre auto into the PSTP program, so theyre kinda the same process--both interviews are still just to get into the regular MD (again, because the PSTP program is auto-admit from reg md). That being said, my guess is the PSTP interviewers make a list of kids they want and send it to the MD committee, meaning it could help/could hurt/could do nothing for your chances of getting in

also if someone else could correct me if I get this wrong, but during interview day the curriculum dean said that anyone can get into PSTP if they get into MD? He basically said you can choose to do the split curriculum once you are accepted and in med school, and feel like that is for you. I could be wrong though I'm getting confused w PSTP process LOL

LOL ok so the only benefit to checking it now is writing the extra essay(s) and potentially getting a recommendation from the PSTP committee that ur app is strong

Yes. I personally chose not to apply PSTP because i read somewhere on SDN (could be 100% wrong) that you need to get the "approval" of both the PSTP and MD committee to get, and I just wanted to focus on doing my best for the MD.
I guess it worked out bc I got an interview, but if I do get in I would switch to PSTP.

but didn't they say if you select the physician scientist career path on the MD secondary, you're pretty much expected to fill out a PSTP app?
