All I did was check off the box to hold my spot--- do I need to do anything else lol?

+1 deferral, y'know what it's better than a rejection from a school that's already such a reach for me 🙏🥹

For all that got deferred today, do keep in mind that it is a true deferral and not a WL. I was deferred last year on this day and then was accepted in February when they revisited the deferred pool of applicants and sent out the remaining A and true WL notifications (although I did not end up actually attending so this is the extent of what I know).

Does anyone know if they truly continue to consider deferrals throughout cycle, or if it will most likely be feb when we hear back? I have content that could go in an update letter but waiting would make it more substantial. But if they’ll deliberate again soon I’d rather just get it in :).

I've heard nothing, do we know if MSTPs get a deferral/rejection email as well or do we just get no communication until decisions are finalized in March?

Is deferred better than waitlisted? What is the difference?

The MSTP interview materials said they will get back to us with a decision (accept, defer, or reject) in 8 weeks, usually less. I'm guessing it's just an email for defer or reject
