No idea how admit.org works but do y'all on here have like a discord or a gc we can talk about our cycles easier on? As a Canadian, I don't know anyone else who's applying to American schools and I'd love to hear how things are going for you guys! Love to connect!

There's a discord.
If you look at the panel on the side of your screen, you’ll see a link to join the Discord right above the option to switch to the residency site.

I went to the Yale info session during the AAMC virtual event, and Erik explicitly said that they have sent out 380 interviews so far out of the 650 they intend to send out. So there is still hope for people who haven't gotten theirs yet. Also, he said that they always circle back and read applications twice or thrice to try to find more people to interview.

Hey, i just wanted to take a minute and genuinely thank you for responding! This is such a nerve wracking process and honestly I feel a) stupid and b) scared, so hearing this is great. Wishing you all the best!!
P.S. Was there any other important information? I was going to go to a drop in session. Do you think it's beneficial for admissions or just for learning about the school? Thanks again!!

For those that receive an interview, be sure to practice your guitar strumming skills before.

Have you been invited to interview or no? Because most of the info they send out is usually for people who have been invited to interview. For example, they have this meet and greet sessions plus other current students info sessions they do. So it all depends on if you’ve been invited. If not, don’t fret. There’s still a bunch of interviews to be sent out. So be hopeful.
This process is brutal and I feel your pain as well. Nothing stupid at all. Yale was my first interview invite and I got another one a month after from a T100 school and since then nothing so far. So I really don’t know how to gauge anything that’s happening. All this is to say that I feel you and let’s all be hopeful

Oo! So I have not been invited. But I saw on Yale Med's site that they have a drop in info session thats open for everyone (just google yale med connect with us). I was just going to log on. They have a ton of events that seem to be linked to the public, but if that's a bad idea maybe I shouldn't... I wish there were better guidelines for these things tbh.
And thats two whole interviews! Thats amazing in and of itself. I'm proud of you if an internet stranger even counts!

hahaha internet stranger is fine lol. I unfortunately do not know anything about the public info session so I cannot give any info on that.
I would also add that Erik said they welcome letters of interests/update. However, he stressed that you do not want to send many of them and the reason according to him is that when you send an update, a special link is created and for the reader to view, they have to usually go back and find the link and then click on it. So if you have two or more, it becomes a nuisance for the person reading your application, and you do not want that. But he said they do welcome that.
manifesting manifesting I love you yale please send me an II 🥹

How long ago was this??? By looking at admit trend, it would seem like most of their interviews are out already. I’m still holding on to hope though

This was 10/30. Since then, I’ve seen more people get interviews including yesterday. So I would say there is still some II to be sent but most likely almost done.

kinda interesting to see that trend, maybe earlier interviews are just better applicants
Does anybody know how many more interviews they have left to give out?
does anyone know if we should also email admissions to notify them after submitting an update in the portal?

Can't hurt. Every time I've done that for other schools, I received an email confirmation as a response

according to cycle track the last interview invites were sent out 12/24 for the previous cycle, does anyone know how accurate this is?
Hi all! Curious to see if anyone knows or thinks YMS is done with interview invites? Their website says they interview into January, but I imagine the Jan interviews slots must be absolutely minuscule. There is complete emptiness in Jan in 2024 and then the notifications sent in Feb. I can't imagine that the whole month is dead silent...

Im hoping that they will send more IIs but based on last years admit.org data, it doesnt look like there were any IIs given in January at all :(

to me it sounds like they'll be conducting interviews but that doesnt mean IIs are still going out. here we report the date we receive the II but you can be invited to interview for a school and not interview until weeks or even months later, so I imagine they just mean jan is when the scheduled interviews will go until. def disappointing 💔 but cycle track also shows no IIs in jan last year

Does anyone know when we should submit the internal YSM financial aid application by? I see on their website that it says 2026/2027 financial aid application (but then the link says 2025/2026??) and when I try to fill it out, it says I am not eligible to apply for financial aid. Do you have to wait to be accepted to fill out their aid application? Thanks so much for any clarification.

From their financial aid session, they let us know that you must apply by Feb. 27th if you want to receive your financial aid package by Second Look weekend in March (so definitely prior to knowing whether you've been accepted or not). A complete fin aid application consists of: CSS Profile, FAFSA, Parents 2024 tax returns & W2s, and an internal YSM Application they said would be updated in January

I emailed them about this, they said it would update to this year's financial aid application around the end of Jan!

When should we expect to receive decisions? Is it usually around the 2/20 date?

Yeah, either 2/20 or the week after, according to recent years' trends:
2025 - Feb 20
2024 - Feb 27
2023 - Feb 24
2022 - Feb 24

Q and A in portal says interviews are extended on rolling basis from Aug - Jan, so its possible we can get some this month! However, last years admit stats show the last recored II invite was in Dec.
Who knows! I was WL last semester and really hoping for another shot this year .. O well. Good luck to you brother!
