hi so I have an interview this month and I was looking at the admit data from the last cycle and it looks like they don’t accept anyone from november on? they just automatically waitlist you pretty much? is this accurate?

We'll find out in a week or two when the mid-Nov interviewees should receive their decisions. I don't think they reject anyone post-interview though, just A or WL.

My faculty interview was very focused on "Why Morsani" (probably because I'm out of state and have no ties to florida) but I would really know your reasons and have more then a couple prepared just in case! The student interview for me was very relaxed comparatively

I recently got an interview here but it seems like they only give waitlist spots to those that interview after Thanksgiving. I have an A to a school I would rather go to than USF, is it worth it to interview?

Sure (I’m biased cuz I’m from/ live in Tampa and you’d love it here).

As an interviewee I wouldn't be opposed to you withdrawing!

Are the calendar invites for the interview given in EST or does it become converted to our own time zone? E.g. I received an invite for 8am and I'm in PST. Is the interview at 8am PST or EST?

Ask them but likely EST- from a Tampa native/resident

Does this school really not release aid information until after matriculation? Anybody know what aid typically looks like (ie merit or need-based and how much)

I feel like that cannot possibly be true

Are the interview times the same as the Teams invite times? I ask because the email says there will be two 1-hour interviews while my calendar invite only specifies one hour.

From my understanding USF doesn't accept any application updates unless specifically requested

They accept post-interview LOInterest/Intent but nothing else

Per the MSAR: Although letters on interest are accepted from all applicants, letters of intent are accepted from applicants on the waitlist only.

I emailed their office a letter a few weeks ago and they said they would add it to my file. I noted that the MSAR said they allowed letters in my email.

Just had an extremely negative interview experience. My interviewer did not seem to care at all about what I had to say and did not ask a single follow up question. When he asked if I had questions at the end and I said yes, he rolled his eyes at me. All of this just to interview for the waitlist. I am a strong believer that interview experiences are indicative of how a university treats its students and it is clear that USF does not care about making the experience a good one. I also don't believe this was a stress test, just an uninterested and disrespectful interviewer. Curious if others felt this way.

I'm really surprised to hear this. I interviewed here in October, and not only were both interviewers extremely friendly and engaged, but it seemed they had specifically chosen a faculty interviewer who resonated with my narrative. She even went as far as to recommend specific USF programs/experiences to me based on my application. I'm sorry you had such a poor experience!

Yeah same seems like my interviewer didn't give af. Besides not really talking about anything, they just said ok to every answer, I initially thought that it was how they were trained (to not give away their reaction to it, etc.) but was anyone's more conversational?

I completely agree. My student interviewer was super chill but my faculty interviewer, older man with glasses, didn't care at all. A shame really, I had high hopes for USF to not be a stat whore school, but damn, horrendous interview experience and not genuine at all.

Definitely doesn't help that they waitlist every person who interviews past november.

! That was my experience as well! I couldn’t help but laugh after my faculty interview because I was in shock of how strange it was. The student interviewer was the only thing that somewhat salvaged the whole interview experience 😬😅

Same here. Interviewed in September and considered reporting one of my interviewers bc of how disrespectful he was. Every other person I know who also interviewed has only had negative things to say. Just a shame really

Had the same experience (I was waitlisted earlier in Fall)

Hey everyone! I drafting a letter of intent for USF and I was wondering how much we're supposed to write. I know we are not supposed to include any updates. Should I keep it short and sweet saying like "I intend on coming here. Thank you"?

I also had this experience, mine converted to an A though so unsure about what to make of that.

They’re still sending out some invites per an admissions rep at their med school forum.

Did anyone who got accepted receive a scholarship? I wonder what their scholarship application process is like and when notifications will be sent out.

During my A call, I was told we would receive financial aid information sometime in February. I haven't heard anything from them about it yet, though.

Thanks! They told me that scholarships can be extended any time until the first day of classes, which seems a bit late to me. I guess we should keep an eye out over the coming weeks.

Do we have any idea what waitlist movement is like at this school? I was scouring tryna see if people who interviewed in Feb/March got off the W/L and idk. As weird as some of their practices are, I love the school, the location, the growth, and ongoing research and I would love to go here.
