Hey guys, quick question for those who got A's yesterday. Were you called or emailed with the decision? I ask because if it's a call then it makes sense that A's would come out gradually, but an email would likely be sent out in a mass wave to all accepted up to this point.

They called me and said I should expect a change in my portal in like 48 hours. Not sure if they're going to email me a written acceptance along with it?

Does anyone have more information about the waitlist movement at UMN? How many acceptances are initially offered?

All I know is from cycletrack.com
They report that 22.6% of people from the waitlist are accepted. This should be taken with a handful of salt because this is self reported data and highly prone to reporting bias.
Therefore, I would estimate the true value being 15-25% of people end up accepted off of the list.
Anyone know what's up with the discrepancy between the OOS post-II acceptance rate on Admit (46%) and that spreadsheet from 2021 (27%)? Ig maybe it just fluctuates from year to year but as an OOS student who would love to attend (ties to MN) I'm spooked by the latter number lmao

When did you submit your secondary? I submitted early August and mine is also still under review. Im OOS (w ties) but I have a feeling I am going to be ghosted or rejected. I have under the median stats especially for OOS. I have a 510 mcat and like 3.8 gpa.

I got it today! I submitted my secondary 8/3 and you can look at my profile for my stats.
My status in my application portal recently changed to "Your application has been received and we are currently reviewing it. A final decision will be communicated to you by email at the conclusion of our review process". Ive seen people on SDN say that that means you should expect a decision post interview soon...I havent even had an II do you think that probs means i should be expecting a rejection email soon?
Are they still giving out II for in-state? Submitted secondary - Late Sept.
Realized late that PREView is required for Minnesota
i applied to the indigenous health mission even though i'm not indigenous myself, because i really feel that my story and my background fit that mission well, but i'm feeling stupid post-interview bc everyone's saying that they really only wanted indigenous people for that mission :/ does anyone have any info on this?

Mine use to just say review and now it says the same as yours. No idea when it changed but lets hope it doesn't mean anything bad. They've been quiet a long time now

Yeah, I am!! I’m from the Midwest tho and I thought it would help a bit but just silence so far. A bit disappointing but fingers crossed. I think they interview pretty far out

Keeping my fingers crossed for you! They released a lot of rejections already so they must have seen something in your application! Hopefully they become a bit more active. I think they interview all the way out to February/March

Any IS high stat rejected without interview? Felt I had strong application essays and EC's with 4.0/523 and a perfect Preview score. Don't understand at all. Only thing I can think of is no gap year.

I'm a current medical student and on the admissions committee for the UMN. For the Indigenous pathway, we're looking for people who have a strong desire to have a future practice that serves Indigenous communities. If that's true, we would expect to see some experience working/engaging with Indigenous people in some capacity. You definitely don't have to be Indigenous yourself, but again, we're looking for people who already have experience with Indigenous people and are somewhat knowledgeable about what it means to serve Indigenous people.

I dont think it leans to an A or an R, but I do def think it means youll get a decision asap. I got this and the next day got a a pre II R.

I've had this for the past 3-4 weeks. I'm holding out hope that it means they're gonna give me a decision very soon.

came as a phone call
I was waitlisted 10 days ago, and I got an acceptance email today and a missed call. I was wondering if this is normal? The waitlist email said they would review in Spring, so I just wanted to see if anyone else has been moved off? It feels like a mistake idk

According to cycletrack, 18% of waitlisted students are accepted with an average of 54 days from the time they are waitlisted to their acceptance.
Got off the waitlist and offered the Dean's Scholarship!!! I genuinely didn't even know that was possible I'm ecstatic.
