okay thanks so much!! if you don't mind sharing--how'd you feel about the general vibe? was it conversational or did you feel like you were getting grilled?

i thought it was chill and really enjoyed talking with all my interviewers!

For those that completed their reg MD track interviews, are you allowed to take notes/jot down your thoughts for the MMI questions? Do you have a minute or 2 to think about your response before answering? Other schools I have interviewed at gave us two minutes to think and allowed up to jot some things down but I haven’t seen anything on UMass

I don't remember tbh, I think they said something about it DURING the interview, but im not sure. In one of my MMI's they did not let me. I think UMass, when I did mine, I asked the interviewer to give me some seconds to read the prompt and think about my answer (gather my thoughts) and they were fine with it. As long as you ask and they give you permission you're good. Also, I remember the interview guidelines say not to use backgrounds of any kind (if im not mistaken). good luck!

Thanks so much for responding! That’s really helpful for me to know going in so I can practice without a full 2 minutes to gather my thoughts. Thanks again :)

No problem! If anything just asked them. I had my interview over a month ago, and I think they were very receptive of questions. Clarifying is always good! Good luck :)

I don’t think that you can write things down but I also asked for some time to read over the question and gather my thoughts before answering, and they were ok with that

Thank you! Did you feel awkward at all sorting through your thoughts in front of them? Or did it feel fine? Just bc on other MMIs i was usually out of the room when I had time to gather my thoughts lol

I think I was too focused on thinking of an answer to worry about it being awkward lol but I wouldn’t worry about that if I were you, the interviewers are understanding and it’s better to take a little time to think than ramble a bunch of bs imo
