Man what does it take to get an A from ku atp like there is one person outside of the early admit people on this site that got in.

At least have the decency to say 90% of people won’t hear back till March instead of holding us out for months just to say we are on another hold till March

I'm curious if timing of interview comes into play when ranking the pool of March holds. Is there any merit for non-early acceptance applicants who interview September-November as opposed to those December-January. As much as I hate the rolling admissions process, I think its less ideal to flip flop between the two, ultimately defeating the purpose of rolling admissions if an interview in December is viewed the same as one in October on a timing stand point.

Additionally, KUMC does mention the holding of applicants till March but with ambiguous wording "Most interviewees will learn their final application status in mid-March."

See you in four months, wishing the best for both of us! Also good luck to everyone else recieving interviews!

I believe Sept-Nov interviews are primarily those who are in state (or have ties). Kansas is very transparent that these folks are given priority and I'd venture to say that priority applies to the hold list too. I look at it as a rubric they are checking off, and being in-state is one line item on the rubric that definitely gives you additional points. That said, who they accept off the hold list is likely the overall high scorers on their rubric...which considers many things (app, secondary, GPA, MCAT, interview, where they live).

As for those with acceptances already, my bet is that their rubric score was very high and it was a no-brainer. If rubric is worth 10, perhaps they don't hesitate to accept those who score a 10 right away. (Well done to those few!)

I was accepted 2 weeks after my interview (RD, OOS w/ ties)! I think my interview went very well and I genuinely enjoyed chatting with my interviewers. I have high stats, as well as good research and clinical experience (but nothing crazy EC-wise imo). Was surprised to receive the A so early but extremely grateful! Best of luck to everyone waiting still, hoping for As for everyone ☺️

Congratulations! Thanks for confirming our thought process! The higher stat applicants with good research and clinical experience are accepted in that 2 week period and others are placed on hold!
