does anyone know if this deferal email should be treated as a waitlist?

I got this today too :( Based on the interview info session, it seems like it may be a softer waitlist compared to other schools, and moreso a hold for later review. Best wishes to you.

After a bit more looking into this online, it seems that's its not really a waitlist, so good news for us!

super late comment but I was digging through the SDN page from last cycle and it seems like MANY get off the DD. Like ppl would get deferral and get the A the following month! Also apparently, the post-interview acceptance rate is ~80% so I think if it's not a rejection it's def a positive sign!

Hi! Sorry I didn't see this sooner! I'm also on the waitlist, and was considering sending them an update letter. I contacted the AdCom about this, and it looks like the adcom congregates at the third Thursday of each month to review applicants in the delayed decision category, and can continue reviewing to either give you the A, W, or R. It looks like we might also have monthly updates too. The dates for anyone seeing this post for subsequent reviews will be:

As per MSAR, UICOM reports that their last date of sending out acceptances is July 17, 2026. Until then, we may potentially receive monthly updates of a 'Delayed Decision' as the adcom meet monthly.

i’m not sure… based on previous SDN threads they seem to trickle out IIs for the program throughout the cycle but it seems to be pretty quiet this year

RMED II last week for interview in late January. Notably, I didn't get an email (they said they had sent one but I scoured my email and the portal and couldn't find a record of it) and I only realized I had an invite when they sent a follow up email asking if I had gotten their first II email.

Honestly, very straightforward MMI and faculty interview. I would just recommend looking through and practicing the MMI resources on the r/premed subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/premed/wiki/interviews/).

No I am not that familiar with the program. From my understanding it’s a program that offers conditional acceptance upon completion of the program.

I went to the Chicago Open House, and they said the Second Look event will be typically held in early April.

They sent out a list of dates on January 15th. There are 3 separate ones between 1/24 and 1/30. Each tour is a different campus. One takes place at like 5pm-8pm which is insane.

basucally a chance to go see the campus in person, less formal. a lot are only opened to interviewed or admitted students. depends on school

I got an II from this school but no directions for interview day or format. Can somebody tell me what is going to happen?

If you go to your portal, there should be an area to sign up for the interview there. They will send interview details and such at a date closer, but you should be able to pick your own date.

yeah, i already picked my date. I just don't know the format, timing, etc

I'm pretty sure once it gets closer to your interview, they'll email more information.

I remeber it being a lot of MMI sessions with faculty from different campuses and members from the community. Honestly, long. I liked that they showed emotion though. My other MMI sessions felt like talking to a robot.

They'll send more information in due time. Mine was sent in a week before the interview. iirc it was a faculty interview + 7 MMI. It felt a bit long to me, but the staff were so warm and enthusiastic. Loved the energy!

Do we have any idea when the next wave of A's will come? This friday?

Committee meets on the 3rd thursday of every month, decisions go out next day, but may not be all decisions going out.

It should be this Friday! Someone posted the committee meeting dates on this thread a while back, and so far, they have always been accurate.

The suspense of waiting for an email kills me lol

i think they release decisions after 5pm cst
