cycle track shows that people have interviews in Dec/Jan last cycle. But I don't know when the invites for those interviews were sent out.

If we are considering UF but still haven't received an interview invite, is it a good idea to send updates?

Did you have new things to update them on or was it more of letter of interest?

A little bit of both. It was what I was currently working on and how it tied into their community.

No worries! It was

Paragraph 1: New research

Paragraph 2: New clinical/service work with tangible impact

Paragraph 3: Ongoing research leadership + surgical exposure

Closing: Polite reaffirmation of interest/how it ties into UF

It was about a page long!

Hey everyone! I’m hoping for a little clarity regarding how to schedule an interview after receiving the invite email. Based on the wording of the email and the fact that I didn’t see anything on the portal, I replied to the email in order to schedule it that way. Can anyone confirm if I interpreted this accurately? Thanks!

How holistic is UF's review process? And if an interview has not been received by now after applying in July, is it safe to assume rejection?

Based on personal experience, it would seem to be very holistic. They truly want to pick people who understand the heart of medicine and are not just checking boxes to fill up a résumé. As for interviews, I think they are still being rolled out since they just opened their February interview dates, though it’s definitely slowed down.

How is the waitlist movement at UF? Any hopes of getting off WL or kind of a done deal?

Ok, ty for sharing. At my masters, their adcom did a presentation of a lower stat mission fit case report. They also shared a medium? and high stats case report/ matriculant profile. Was hoping it was not just for show.

Super holistic I would say. UF really cares about you having great bedside manner and the potential to be a doctor who really cares about people as an individual first and foremost. I went there for undergrad and I worked with like four years worth of medical students and talk to a lot of the admissions committee like Dr. C way before I ever applied. The one thing that they always emphasize that they care about was bedside manner. Now you know you, do have your students who are 525/4.0 stat heavy machines and excel in other areas. But I also saw students who had like a 506 but like a really great story/narrative and were some of the nicest people ever. Also, doctor Lynch has talked to me about the essays and how their intentionally very unique because they want to try to look at your thought process, and don’t want you just recycling something

Anyone know any info about the GroupMe for admitted students. I talked to another friend and they told me you can only get the link to join if you state ur 100% committed and will withdraw other apps. Is this true? I’m still waiting on some decisions but would love to learn more about UFs new student body

Not true… they’ll send you an email with the link eventually. You don’t need to withdraw other apps

Oh cool! Even if I click the admissions decision that I’m “seriously considering attending, but am awaiting decision at other schools” ?

Juliet Hill said there's usually 20-30 students that move off the waitlist. I don't believe the waitlist is that huge, so decent odds. I would send a letter of interest/intent/update letter to better your chances.

during interview day, the admission data they presented seemed to suggest an extremely high interview -> acceptance rate. does this include people who are waitlisted and then accepted later?

They did, but only to those who interviewed on 2/20. They just said that decisions for that batch of interviewees would be pushed back to 3/10, so not everyone got the email.

I know some people without ii who got the email and some who didn't. They may be sending them out in batches but per their admissions office they are done with interviews unfortunately :(
