Does the post-interview email just ask if you're interested in their branches? Or do they actually ask you ask you to switch your application preference to a branch if you respond?

If you respond then they switch your preference, just like they do if you indicate a preference on the secondary! But I’m pretty sure everyone is considered for CUSOM generally first, then people with preferences undergo further consideration for the branches.
