Also it is kind of worrying that as future doctors, we are turning our backs and being biased towards URM applicants. How would that translate when treating patients....

Jumping into this conversation to second what was previously shared by another user this morning. I respect everyone in expressing their perspectives. However, can this topic please be moved to private messaging or the community page? Just a request from someone who wants to keep notifications on but not for this discussion that involves more than just UCSF. Thank you.

I think if UCSF had an average MCAT score of 513 they would not be a T30 school.

This whole notion that a schools mcat can drastically affect it’s ranking is just silly. A school doesn’t magically lose research funding, residency prestige, etc just because it has a 513 vs. 517 median mcat.

Literally this lol. UCSF has the lowest median of the T20 yet nobody would put it outside the T3.

royland27:

and then they accidentally kill someone as an attending

So, low MCAT = more likely to kill someone while practicing medicine?

You do realize USMLE STEP 1, 2, & 3 exists right? Medicine isnt about who knows BPCM better.
