I can give you more info on HPA. Did you only apply to 2 schools? What were your stats?

I interviewed at the end of September, and I still haven't heard back.... Is this a bad sign?

for the myUpstate Applicant Account , when i log in using my credentials to view my portal/any updates, it says 'No online applications currently available for the College of Medicine' and it's been saying that for a few weeks since i submitted my secondary (i know, very late, but i shot my shot cause why not) ... i submitted a help request on my other portal as soon as i saw that and haven't heard back

is it worth emailing? did this happen to anyone else?

have lots of MD-MPH applicants already received II's? i wish there was a way on admit to know if people applied to combined degrees because i'm just curious if that delays the application processing at all... i haven't heard anything at all but no rejection yet and am wondering if that's bc of applying md-mph?

More than likely it’s an A. I received an accepted students newsletter 3 days before my acceptance letter email (which was just a pdf, no subject heading or anything else on the email). Portal was updated a day and a half later after getting the newsletter. To be quite frank, it was a hot mess.

My portal says the same thing but I have not received an interview yet. Does anyone know if they are still sending out interviews?

I've been put Oh hold in October for an interview and crickets since then, does that most likely means R at this point?

I was placed on HPA a few days ago, and now my portal changed again to "Decision Made" and nothing else.

Edit: No longer says HPA or when I interviewed. Does anyone else's look like this?

This same scenario happened to me when I was placed on HPA a month ago. It was blank, then I had my HPA decision, then a few days later it went relatively blank with the "decision made" line in the top left. A day or so later it returned to the original HPA screen and has been that way ever since. I think the portal changes are linked to some work the admissions folks are doing on the backend.

Edit: I just rechecked my portal and it is back to that "Decision made" screen. This time it has the line "Your deposit is non-binding and refundable until April 30." Hopefully this is good news, but my heart has been broken so many times by these portal changes that I'm just ignoring it for now lol

As an update, mine no longer mentions the deposit. It used to say it both before and after being placed on HPA

I assume the deposit message went away for everyone then. Not sure why my portal no longer says HPA though

Preclinicals are all at Syracuse. I think they said you apply during M2 for Binghamton or Syracuse and can select which site you prefer for rotations

Does anyone know if the pre-II hold is usually a soft R or do they utilize it? Also are they still sending out interviews?

The pre-II hold isn’t a soft R, they do actually utilize it. I was hold for a week before they sent me an ii and I know people who were on it for 1+ months before receiving an ii.

As for your second question, honestly no clue :(

Thanks! Do you know if they accept update letters?

According to MSAR, they do until a decision is made.

This medical school accepts the following letters or notifications from applicants

Letters of Intent - This letter communicates the applicant's intention to attend the medical school if offered an acceptance (indicating withdrawal from other schools which have already offered acceptance and withdrawal from waitlists).

If allowed by the medical school, letters of intent are applicable to applicants who have been interviewed.

Letter of Interest - This letter communicates the applicant's interest and belief that they are well-aligned with the medical school.

If allowed by the medical school, letters of interest are applicable to applicants not yet invited to complete a secondary application or to interview.

Notice of Significant Updates or Achievements - If allowed by the medical school, examples of significant updates might include published research or articles, significant honors, significant new healthcare or community service.

More information about letters of intent, updates, notice of significant updates or achievements

Information should be uploaded via the applicant portal.

When do decisions come out if we interviewed in early February? Also, I was on hold for a few months before getting an interview invite.
