Genuinely curious. What is the point of applying to PSTP if MDs can switch to PSTP noncompetitively?

applying PSTP gave me 2 more essays to go in depth on my research, which is one of the strengths of my app imo, so I wanted space to express that

For people who got rejected, are any PSTP? Wondering if the reason I haven't been yet is because I applied PSTP lol

Looks like they haven't rejected PSTPs yet lol. I wonder if any PSTPs have gotten IIs as well
