Has anyone else who don't have any other acceptances and only interviewed here received a certiphi background check email? Trying to figure out if it's procedural or something promising?

Did you receive that email as well? Also, if you don’t mind when did you interview?

I tried checking SDN Stanford threads from last year and didn’t see any mention of certiphi emails… Is it possibly something new? (I also haven’t gotten that email.)

So if we don't get the certiphi background check email, does that mean we didn't get accepted or waitlisted?

They have multiple decision days - Jan 14 is just an A day. I think Jan 31 is WL day, Feb also has decisions reported last year

Sorry, can someone explain what the background check specifically has to do with Stanford? How do people know it'sits not from other schools? Is there a list of schools that use it? THANK U!

interviewed in oct, no bg check email. However, i got into a couple schools that require it but still no email, so im thinking its not specific to stanford and perhaps its just by alphabetical order or something idk…

usually the 31st (for Sept-Dec) and then you can assume after that it's either WL or A most likely.

If I interviewed in September, should I expect to hear back on January 14th or whenever the early date is for As? If I don’t hear an A on that day and others do, does that mean it’s a WL or R?

If you use last years admit cycle as reference it looks like more people got As in Feb than in Jan and there was no correlation w interview date. Sample size is super small but I would definitely not lose hope if you don't hear back on the 14th.

I also didn't get video invite- ppl say there is a chance of another round on the 15th-ish, but odds don't look great tbh. I'm crushed abt it.

I truly think it's rolling so they will send more as the week goes. I find it hard to believe that they release all MD applicants in one day and that's it. Ofc I could be wrong as I am not an adcom but just what I think. I also am crushed about it I thought I had a really strong application and some cool perspectives to share

Ya we're chilling- this is not at all indicative of stanford by any means we are still in the running either way

I personally don't but last year 4000+ scholars were eligible but only 500 receive knights Hennessy invites for video. which means at the time they sent it out, over 4000 scholars were being actively considered by stanford/already got in/will get in. only 1/8 of those get an invite so please do not take it personally, I feel the same though, this is not indicative of stanford.

if you got an invite that's a good sign, not getting an invite is not a bad sign

but wouldn't KHS adcom consult MD admissions for all MD applicants, and since MD decisions are almost out they would've made their decisions by now? what is the point of sending MD video invites out in multiple batches if KHS and MD adcom have already coordinated
