wait where does it say anything about updates on msar?

Go to admissions on whatever school you choose, and then in Application Information & Requirements, it's about halfway down.

when did your friend submit? i'm getting mixed opinions on whether it's too early to send a pre II update letter if I submitted end of august

For the update letter instructions it says

"Update letters should be uploaded to the application portal, and a notice of the upload should be emailed to the admissions office"

Does this mean we submit an update letter to the portal AND email them that we submitted one? It just seems a bit repetitive to me so i wanted to confirm

that is what i did. uploaded then brief email basically saying its there
