Heard from one of the current M1s that last year (class of 2030) they filled like 120 out of 170 seats with ED applicants and 7-year BS/MD program applicants. Considering how slowly the current cycle is going for NJMS, I would not be surprised if most of next year's seats are already filled. As an NJ resident, I am personally going to stop expecting an interview from NJMS and hold out hope for Cooper Rowan or RWJMS. If I happen to get one, I'll take it as a nice surprise.

okay wait I looked at MSAR and 87/174 students that matriculated were from special programs (ED, BS/MD, EAP) meaning theres like still like approx. half of the seats that are offered are regular applicants.

Yeah, MSAR data is definitely more reliable than word of mouth. But even then, losing half the seats to ED applicants is honestly kind of insane. If you apply ED with, like, a 513+, it's pretty much a sure thing, so I get why a lot of people do it, but it does suck for people applying regular who want an in-state option, especially because Newark is closer to NYC, which is a big plus for residency matching IMO.

I guess it’s over for most of us then? This just feels so bad

i did ED this year and during our dean's session we were told 70-80 accepted students of '30 were from the ED program

If 80 kids were accepted ED and they have about another 20 7-year BS/MD students, then it could be around 100 students accepted before Regular Decision applications.

Honestly, 80 or 100 seats filled up doesn't sound too bad since there's still a good amount left, I thought i meant like there was only 10 spots or something the way it was being talked about lol
