Yes, follow the actual text box counter. The 75 word max is a typo.
Also you're all good! This is a stressful process haha.

Ya asked them about that too and they didn’t say anything for some reason haha. I put my AP stuff under the future requirements text box cuz I only used one of my AP credits for pre-reqs.

also wondering this! I clicked on the box and it seems to be a required question but it doesnt say to put N/A so i might just write a few sentences about why im interested in being in their part of PA even with no connections there

i put N/A in the box
For the "Unique Pathways Programs" tab, is anyone experiencing that one of the pathways is selected even when you click off of it and save the page? Whenever I return to the page it still shows that pathway as selected.

I ended up just leaving a comment under the applicant information section where it asked about the Penn State programs we had been involved in that I didn't select that pathway but it just automatically did. lol too impatient to wait on an email back
Has anyone figured out the AP issue?

They said to write the course number + course title in the text box below in an email response.
What's the vibe with this school? Any current students want to share more?

"describe your motivation to be a physician" Isn't this literally my personal statement? Why are they asking this?

When it asks you if you are interested in an accelerated program it auto selects pediatrics and won't let you unselect

I’m hoping someone can clarify how Penn State College of Medicine handles prerequisite coursework that is planned but not yet completed.
I have completed all required prerequisites except Organic Chemistry II (and the associated lab), which I am planning to take this upcoming Fall. When researching medical schools, I understood that many programs allow applicants to have outstanding prerequisites as long as they are completed prior to enrollment and didn't see anything said otherwise about Penn State.
However, their prerequisite page in the secondary portal states:
“Only the applications of applicants who have satisfied the competencies by all the required academic courses (or the applicant's institution’s equivalent) will be reviewed by the admissions committee.”
This wording made me concerned that my application may not be reviewed if Organic Chemistry II is not completed at the time of submission.
The page also says:
“If you are currently enrolled in a course or plan to enroll in a course, please list it as it would appear on your transcript and indicate when you are taking the course or plan to take the course.”
There are two boxes at the bottom of the prereq page. One of which is to check if you have completed every prereq, and another to check if you haven't. I added to their a text box that I am completing Orgo 2 this Fall, but I don't want to get autoscreened by checking that I haven't finished every course yet.
Has anyone applied to Penn State with a prerequisite still planned/in progress and knows how this section should be completed? want to get my app in asap

okay for Explain why you decided to apply to the Penn State College of Medicine and what meaningful ties you may have to Hershey and the central PA area.
If you have NO ties to the PA area are you just not answering that section or are you saying like I have no ties

I don't have any ties to central PA, and I just used it as a "why us" prompt and didn't mention that I have no ties
