Anyone know if they drop your lowest MMI station?

I read on SDN that they drop your highest and lowest MMI stations
Hi! How long did the MMI last? Does it line up with like 5 stations, 8 mins each? Mostly asking as it relates to the time I ask off for work. Thanks!

I'd budget like 2 hours so have some time before and after to relax and decompress.

I was just put on hold yesterday. Really hoping it’ll lead to an A… felt so bummed when I saw the email that a “decision” was made and then that decision is just more waiting but at least this time they’re telling me :)

Is anyone aware of how many MD/MPH offers are given? I am assuming it is more than the seats available, but would love to hear people's thoughts!

I’m not to sure on an exact number, but I interviewed for it in September and there was at least 15-20 people interviewing with me then for MD/MPH and they mentioned the cohort will be about that size if not a bit smaller. And in state applicants are also being considering for just the MD tract as well which is a huge incentive to many people to just shoot their shot and get priority consideration. So if that was in Sep I can bet there were plenty more days like that through September, October, November, December, and even now so a good amount of people have applied. Just my guess although it is not disclosed officially how many applied and how big the class size will be this year as it sees to grow a bit every year. Good luck to us all! One day we’ll have all the answers we need
Any idea on what days of the week the score determining hold-->accepted changes? And how frequently until April 30th?

Trying to predict the behavior of OHSU adcom is a recipe for madness, it'll change when it does, no one is going to be able to give you the answer to this because as far as I can tell there is no defined structure.
For those of you accepted, is anyone experiencing an error when tying to view the financial aid package though the acceptance portal (prompts SSN)?

I haven't seen any release of the financial aid offer in my portal. The only thing so far it asked me to do was put in my SSN if I wanted to opt in to receiving financial aid information

Not a student yet but know a lot. There is a ton of housing on the waterfront by the hospital's clinics. Most people live there at least during pre-clinical. You are walking distance to the hospital and gym, with a decent amount of food around.

Cool! Ya that’s what I’ve heard. If anyone would be interested in connecting to explore together feel free to message!

I talked with an M1 and she said the school will send out a discord link later in the spring/summer with all the students attending OHSU in any program and that's where people get housing/roommates. She told me not to stress about housing at all and to just wait for the link to be sent.

Yea, hopefully they send a link a little earlier this year since school starts in June. Thanks!!

Welcome! Oh I should also mention, the M1 also said that the June start will just be a bs easy online class/not rlly a class. It’s just so we get grandfathered in to the old federal loan laws. On-campus actual school will start in August! That’s what she told me, at least.

I went to admitted students’ day and they told me it would be roughly 4 hours of work per week, asynchronous.

Is Hold at OHSU the same as WL at every other school?
anonymous:

no. WL means you getting in is contingent on someone else declining their acceptance and you getting "their" seat.
Hold means there is theoretically a seat with your name on it, they just want to interview more people before they award it. Hold is statistically and realistically a MUCH better position than WL. Also OHSU utilizes a WL and builds it in April, and from what I've been told, something like 80% of the class spends some amount of time in the hold pool.
Did anyone get an A from the hold pool in January or February?

I’m still waiting to hear on Md/mph decisions from the 1/26 interview week. With the 3/15 deadline, should that mean we’ll be hearing back by tomorrow?

I think technically the window to hear back is anytime between now and April 30th. However, its unclear how many As have been handed out to follow traffic rules for OHSU.

Wait sorry what is the 3/15 deadline? Is that just an MD/MPH thing?

This gives more detail: https://www.aamc.org/services/admissions-lifecycle/traffic-rules
But the most important part: "By March 15 of the matriculation year, issue a number of acceptance offers at least equal to the expected number of students in its first-year entering class and report those acceptance actions to the AMCAS program."

Ahh ok, so a deadline for them, not us. Thank you!

Let me know if you guys think this sounds right. So theoretically, a lot of us are hearing back tomorrow!? At least to get the class size to 150 ? Last I saw on SDN 70ish acceptance offers were given and that was a few weeks ago so that number is probably more between now and then. But whatever that number is, the difference between that and the M30 150 class size will be offered tomorrow

I love this optimism and I hope we all get As soon!
One thing to note is that since 3/15 falls on the weekend, they technically have until Monday 3/16.
Per AAMC: "*If any date falls on a weekend/holiday the recommendation(s) will apply to the following business day."

OHSU has a unique power to make me feel like a dude coming on way too strong. I feel like we had a great first date back in September (interview week 9/15)and I was ready for marriage & kids the whole shebang because I know she’s the one for me in my heart, meanwhile shes playing the field, ghosting me on hold when she promised they would call ? Since then I’ve basically been stalking her, seeing who else she talked to and breaking my heart when she’s liked them more than me hoping we still have a chance together. Like wtf has happened to my mental state I have never obsessed over anything more, deluded optimism is all I have XD

Coming off of anonymous cause you deserve some genuine camaraderie -- you are not alone in this feeling. Feel free to DM me if you'd like to connect and ruminate together. Hopefully we will both have good news soon. The wait is brutal.

Bless you friend. Okay it won’t actually let me message you for some reason, but would love to connect too. This cycle has felt isolating and it’s nice to know there are others !

It's pedantic and diabolical to keep so many people on hold until 4/30. People are going to have 2 months to make crucial life decisions.

Dunno, it's what their email says, that they will make decisions by 04/30.

I am a reapp from last year, ranked waitlist came out April 22nd last year. Wait list moves very quick historically. While not a guarantee, if you rank is 30 or lower you can often treat that as an A. Went up to 64 last year I believe.

I really hope all of us are classmates this summer :)
The OHSU applicant vibes are just so good
Anyone get off hold today?
