Is secondary turnaround time a big deal for this school?

i'd say get your secondaries in within a week.

While I agree with samplam to do it ASAP, I'll add that I had a II here last year, and I took over 3 weeks to submit. So don't feel like it needs to be rnrn. Quality is always the priority.

Does anyone know any M1s who are still looking for roomates?

nah, i turned it in after 1 month in mid september. depends on applicant

Do you think Northwestern undergrads get additional consideration or they are viewed as any other applicant?

Viewed as any other applicant, but you'd probably have a bit more to talk about in your secondaries and essays.

Lol 2/3 of my co-interviewees attended Northwestern undergrad. Def something of a boost imo

I'd say undergrads get extra consideration for II, but since they already take in 10-20 undergrads through their direct admit program, Northwestern undergrads might even have a tougher time getting through bc imo they are looking for a diverse class in all arenas...geographically, undergrad, etc. I know 2 undergrads last cycle who sent letters of intent there, 520+ MCAT, 3.95+ gpa, with plenty of research, clinical, volunteering and leadership who didn't get the A.

Part of it might be that Northwestern likes protecting its yield, which is why we see a higher Post-II acceptance rate for in-state applicants, the strong consideration of LOIs, and like youre saying, even a preference for Northwestern undergrads

Is Admit's post II acceptance rate for NW actually that high? I'd imagine moreso like 40%?

I've heard from a NW alum that the preference for NW undergrads is huge. My undergrad also does this (even tho i havent gotten an II lmao but ill live) - personally i dont like that vibe because its just cagey imo. Schools should be open to admitting students who studied in other places and more largely playing well with other schools

It sucks for those who got into better schools than NW for undergrad, but our schools don’t have a med school/don’t favor their undergrad students. NW is such a top school of mine!

But they definitely still admit a decent amount of non-NW people like I know a couple from my undergrad and theres this girl who went to Brown that posted an application cycle video
