When do you think secondaries come out

NYMC doesnt have secondaries

from their website: "All applicants to the School of Medicine receive a supplemental application upon submission of the primary application to AMCAS."

This worry is not unwarranted. I had to contact NYMC because they did not initially send me a secondary. They said oopsies and sent it thereafter, and I was then interviewed. So their system literally just messed up.

Matriculating class of 2030 here- NYMC was one of the first to send me their supplemental application about a month after the primary went in

This might be a stupid question but does anyone know how strict they are with LOR requirements? I don't have one from my undergraduate major. I did a masters and have two from that and one science undergrad. I'm also confused because they say professors that counts towards your BCPM gpa but then they dont include math? I have chem (undergrad) math (masters) and graduate school advisor in terms of my academic letters. Also PI of directed research but that wasn't put towards my science gpa even though I probably should have classified it that way. Not sure if its worth applying

Yea I've been out for two years too. So they told you you needed to get that letter instead of automatically screening you out? I guess I could apply and attempt to get a letter. What did the timeline look like with you figuring out you needed the letter/getting it/getting an II?

how long were u on hold for? i was in a similar situation and was able to get everything in today but was wondering if being incomplete for a few weeks after sending in my secondary would be really harmful

No, I don't think so. I was asking because they sent me an email after I submitted my secondary asking if I met their letter requirements, which I did not. So I found another letter writer that would meet it and submitted that today. They do not screen for secondaries, and I'm assuming they stopped reviewing my app once they realized all my correct letters were not in. I was asking bc it sounds like this person was in a similar situation but also got an interview. I had an acceptable amount of letters before this one; they just did not meet NYMC's requirements. Hope this is helpful.

should i wait for my committee letter which is looking like its gonna take till august to arrive or submit individual letters from interfolio?

Slightly different situation but they had emailed me that they were going to "complete" my application and forward it to committee for review with the expectation that I submit a letter from a prof in my upcoming grad program by their 01/31 deadline. I got a complete notification the next day. Maybe you can ask if its possible for them to complete your file in the meantime?

I'm in the same situation but I'm personally just going to wait. They seem like they want to rush into review and I'd rather not do that without my uni's cover letter for my packet

Haha yes. I said that my uni told us cover letters would be complete by the start of august and as soon as I'm notified of its completion, I'll have the letters uploaded to AMCAS

I submitted a while back and just got it this morning say it was complete it takes some time to process

Same. Submitted on 6/26 and got email on 7/11 complete

me too! they also emailed me to confirm that i got credit from my PI for a science letter, so I do think they are strict about the LOR requirements if anyone is curious
