received this in july and haven't received a secondary. they send interviews til May literally. Idk why they are so slow.

Apparently they're screening before providing secondaries. I don't recall that being on MSAR but that's what those on SDN claim

Do you know how long the screening might last?

Any news on secondaries or any kind of updates? The silence is deafening.

this is from MSAR 006 list for Meharry, "Eligible applicants are invited to complete the secondary application." Schools that send secondaries to everyone usually have terminology along these lines "All applicants after primary application are verified through AMCAS."

Not the same person, but I responded to this thread previously. I was unaware they required Casper, but I don’t plan on taking it so I may as well withdraw from them.

Also please be aware that they screen for secondaries and Meharry tends to take a very long time to do things overall. They are one of the slower schools of this process.

Don't withdraw. They require casper but they still send interviews if you don't have a casper score yet. They do require the casper score before you matriculate.

Yes; I sent them a letter of interest email and they responded:

"Thank you for your continued interest in Meharry Medical College and for contacting the Office of Admissions & Recruitment.

Your statement has been assigned to your application for review. You will receive a notification from our office as further status updates are made available."

I’m guessing you did? I have stats that usually fall within Meharry’s range and I submitted my primary lil middle/late July ;was relubctan to take Casper but ended up doing it cuz it’s required lol). It’s not like I have a high gpa but I was thinking I’d get a secondary by now. Just gonna keep hoping abs praying.

I submitted with a 502 MCAT and received a secondary so idk if 505 is a hard rule.

I got a secondary this cycle and I have a 500. I also got a secondary 2 cycles ago and then I had a 496. I’m non trad with really strong EC’s + masters.

I do live in TN now originally not from there. Undergrad GPA 3.29 but post bac raised it to a 3.4. This is the first time I applied to Meharry. It makes me wonder if they are screening in a rolling admissions style instead of when you completed your primary because I applied late (Oct).

Nice, maybe in state preference cuz I applied mid July, took Casper July 31st went from a 496 to 501 within a few months between my test dates, string and diverse ECs- mainly research and service. Maybe cuz I’m applying straight from undergrad (traditional) 🤷🏽‍♀️ or just random order. Recently sent them a letter of interest/ update letter

Yes, that's what happened to me I took the Casper after I received it

Those that sent an update letter, did they respond? I got a secondary when they first came out but it’s been silence. This is my 3rd time applying (and third time receiving a secondary) so I’m hoping that now with a higher MCAT they give me a chance

Fellow Admit homies - they just invited me to complete the secondary yesterday. While skeptical of the extreme tardiness on their part, I am still completing this secondary with hopes that they won't drag their feet moving forward. How naive am I right now?

Alot of people still haven't received a secondary from meharry, so you receiving one you should definitely submit it. Meharry runs late into the cycle they even interview in May.
