I would just fill it out, it really doesn't take that long unless you have significant updates. The portal says it is optional but recommended so I think it's better to be safe than sorry. My interviewer did not bring it up though at all. They will, however, ask you a lot about your application, so make sure to go through your writing before the interview. Good luck!
