How big is this first wave supposed to be? If someone submitted early and does not get II on first wave, is there little hope for later II?

according to last year, the first wave or two are really big. you can still receive an invite later but you may also hear a rejection early september

How people know or guess today will be the first release day?

Typically happens on wednesdays. Last year and i think the year before it was the second wednesday of august. So I'm guessing it could be this wednesday. It's all speculation of course.
