Do we need to do anything in the weeks following our acceptance email to hold our seat in the class until the plan to enroll/comit to enroll deadline (pay a deposit, sign anything, etc.)? I know they talk about the intent to enroll on our portal but mine hasn't updated yet (and I interpreted that as something that would show up around the the AAMC plan to enroll opened

I emailed to clarify; they said that there is no longer a "intent to enroll" in the portal, only a "plan to enroll", which opens in February. They said that there are no additional steps needed to be taken at this time. Congrats on your acceptance!

After we fill out the interview agreement form, what are next steps? I dont see anything to schedule an interview.

I have my faculty interview scheduled, but the website mention meeting with some of their medical students. Does it happen afterwards? Same day? Is that a separate email?

For me they said that the student meetings occurred every Thursday at 6pm, and that you need to email them back to let them know which date works for you. After that they should send you an email. Although it is required, it was fairly casual and seemed to be geared more for you to get a feel of their program and if it's somewhere that fits for you. Hope this helps! :)

For admitted students: Do they do a second look?

They said there would be a weekend in the spring during which accepted students are invited to visit the campus and interact with faculty and students etc. They haven't sent out details but reports they would update in the spring.

i had emailed them about a month ago asking if there's anything we had to do and they said:

"Thank you for following up and for your continued interest in Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Interview scheduling has resumed, and no further action is needed from you at this time.

We will reach out directly with available interview dates as soon as they are finalized. We appreciate your patience and your enthusiasm for the program."

Does anyone know what the commit to enroll deadline is for Marshall? I think I saw April 30 on the acceptance email, but that seems really early (and may have just been talking about when it opens on the CYMS tool), and then I saw July 7 on the 2026 MSAR application timeline PDF (https://students-residents.aamc.org/media/7016/download)

I will follow exactly what they send me via email. I have an email from CMU also stating April 30, so I will follow that, you know what I mean? I see no reason to risk your acceptance offer based on what some website says elsewhere. I know the information may come from the school, etc., but I would be careful with this. If this is something important to you, email them and double-check.

I hope my experience with the school can provide some clarity. I received my interview invitation sometime after 12/5. I got an email to schedule my interview first and my interview confirmation email was the only place that mentioned completing the interview agreement form.

hmm see that makes so much more sense than what i’m dealing with 😭 idk if anyone else had this happen but i was just sent a link to complete the interviewee agreement in the portal on 12/5 with no other info about the interview (no formal invite nor info about scheduling or even a congrats lol) so i filled it out and submitted it the same day but it’s been radio silence since then. i emailed them in january asking if there’s anything i need to do and they said they’d reach out with interview dates but they still haven’t so i’m losing hope since it’s over 3 months now since they sent the interviewee agreement :(

Does anyone know why their CTE is so early?? I'm not that confident I'll be ready for a decision then there's little to no waitlist movement before April 30

According to adcom, it is to allow accepted students from OOS sign leases, make movement plans, and secure financial aid. I agree with you that this is very early, but it doesn't seem like there is any way around the deadline.

I mean yeah I guess that makes sense. Last year it was 3 weeks prior to the first day of instruction so I just think it's crazy that it's so early this year, like you literally have the day cte opens and thats it lol
