I sent thank you letters to my interviewers through the portal. IDK how important that was but it gave me peace of mind. I also sent an update/letter of interest afterwards. The dean of admissions literally told us during our interview day that they love letters of interest and updates because it shows you are interested.

did anyone interview late august and not get a decision yet? should i be worried as its been 8 weeks and i havent heard anything? should i contact the school?

Def don't contact the school. I interviewed late September and heard back.
